Medieval Day at the Château Fort - Pyrenean Museum - Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Since the 12th century, one of the prestigious residences of the Counts and Countesses of Bigorre has stood atop a rocky outcrop in the heart of Lourdes. This often-coveted castle has withstood fierce sieges. Today, it houses the Pyrenean Museum.

On Sunday, August 10, the Château fort de Lourdes will be celebrating and will rediscover its medieval atmosphere!

Throughout the day, the varied program will allow you to learn more about the Middle Ages. You can immerse yourself in military life with a medieval camp, a weapons presentation, combat demonstrations, and an introduction to archery with the associations Les Archers de Fébus and Qu'em Biarnés.

Discover the arts of fire with an introduction by the blacksmith of the Forge de l'Osencame, and the art of illumination. Relax in the gardens while listening to the soothing music of our troubadour Serge Cladères or a lecture on roses.

Has all this whetted your appetite? So let yourself be surprised by the delicious medieval recipes offered by the Tailloir association.

Guided tours are offered to retrace the history of the Château and children will participate in coats of arms workshops.

As you will have understood, there is something for everyone!

Want to travel back in time? Young and old alike, join us on Sunday, August 10th to relive the medieval era in a thousand-year-old historical setting.

Adult admission: €8 and youth (6-17 years): €4. Family admission with 2 adults + 1 youth (6-17 years) at €18. Free admission for children under 6.
